Peking University School of Public Health (SPH) was established 6 decades ago and is one of the leading research and education institutions in China on public health and policy. SPH has 10 departments, including departments of Health Policy and Management, Global Health, and Social Medicine and Health Education. SPH established departments and academic teams working on health policy and systems three decades ago and has made great contributions to the country through scientific research, education programs, and policy services.

Dr. Zhang Tuohong is a professor and the Vice Director of the Department of Global Health, in the School of Public Health of Peking University. She is also the Director of PKUSPH Research Center on Aging Health Services. She is also a Committee Member of Social Medicine Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (CPMA) and of the Leprosy/Tuberculosis Sub-Committee of Disease Control Expert Advisory Committee, NHFPC.

Provide intellectual and technical support to China’s Health Development Aid through the establishment of a centre of excellence in Health Development Aid in China; build a Health Development Aid team employing best practice; and push forward construction of a multisectoral and interdisciplinary health development network in China to increase China’s contribution to global health and realise the potential of China’s Health Development Aid.

Comparative study on the forms, management systems and best practice in Health Development Aid; effectiveness assessment of China’s Health Development Aid in Uganda; assessment of the malaria control programs in Africa carried out with Chinese assistance; develop training materials and textbook for Health Development Aid; organize Global Health Diplomacy and Health Development Aid Executive Training Courses and develop personnel training and capacity building for Health Development Aid, etc.

Improvement of the capacity to analyze Health Development Aid; improvement of the capacity of knowledge dissemination and training; improvement of the capacity of policy consultancy and influence; build team and network for Health Development Aid with best practice.
